My
inspiration came first from the guitar I owned from 1967 to 1978: Jose
Ramirez 1a. It seemed like a worthwhile effort to strive for the sound of
the guitar
I
earned my degree with, and I will always remember the wonder of
unpacking it and tuning it up the first time.
In
the 80's I joined
the Guild of American Luthiers, and I
have learned much from their publications and meetings. It is truly
amazing to have an organization dedicated to sharing information about
building instruments, and I consider Tim Olsen to be a visionary.

The
Masterclass at the Las Vegas Guitar Festival www.internationalguitarinstitute.com
was a great inspiration: The
teachers were world class, my first lessons after 34 years taught me a
lot, the feedback about my guitars was very valuable. Seeing and hearing
famous guitars and guitarists left a lasting impression that reflects in
my own work.
I
would like to give very special thanks to Karen Wilhelm and my wife for
putting together my webpage. wilhelm01@charter.net |
