I
grew up in a small town in Switzerland. My father introduced me to the joy of woodworking.
I was chip carving and building small projects before the age of
six. My motivation to go into
music began as a 14 year old when I first heard a record of Segovia's. His music inspired me to want to play like he did.
I embarked on my journey to become a classical guitarist by
entering the Conservatory in Bern, Switzerland.
I graduated in 1973 and taught classical guitar for 5 years at
Music Schools and Teacher's College. When
my beloved Ramirez guitar was stolen, I began my second career as a custom
woodworker which I continued for 25 years.
I began using my woodworking expertise to build myself a
replacement for the guitar that was stolen.
I now enjoy building classical guitars full time.
I
appreciate having the advantage of being both player and builder.
I take pleasure in the feel, look, and sound of an outstanding
guitar and strive for these qualities as I build. |
